Day 1: Arrival in Shimla, Drive to Reckong Peo (2,290m/7,513 ft)
  • Drive: 8-10 hours

  • Drive from Shimla to Reckong Peo, the district headquarters of Kinnaur.

  • The drive is scenic, passing through beautiful valleys, apple orchards, and the Sutlej River.

  • Overnight stay in a guesthouse in Reckong Peo.

Day 2: Drive from Reckong Peo to Tangling (2,300m/7,546 ft), Trek to Ganesh Park (3,500m/11,482 ft)
  • Drive: 1 hour to Tangling

  • Trek: 6-7 hours

  • Start the trek from the village of Tangling, located on the banks of the Sutlej River.

  • The initial ascent is steep and passes through dense forests of pine and oak.

  • Reach Ganesh Park, a flat meadow that serves as a base camp for trekkers.

  • Ganesh Park is named after a rock formation believed to resemble Lord Ganesha.

  • Camp overnight at Ganesh Park.

Day 5: Explore Kalpa or Drive Back to Shimla

  • Option to either stay another night in Kalpa or begin the drive back to Shimla.
